MEETING OF THE TANGRAM WORKING GROUPS

Public institution Tourist Board of City of Banja Luka, supported by LIR Evolution, organised the first meeting of the workings groups with the aim to prepare a Local action plan for the area of Banj Brdo. The meeting included presentation of the current state of the area and the vision of its development was defined along with positive and negative expectations of the working group participants. The participants of the meeting were representatives of relevant institutions, private sector, experts and representatives of NGOs. The participants expressed the common stance that protection of the area is necessary with development of Banj brdo as tourist product respecting principles of sustainable tourism with clear management structure as well as better connectivity and availability of the area. During the following period further meetings will be held in order to define key activities and measures necessary for achievement of the defined vision and other sections of the action plan.

The Local action plan for Banj brdo is prepared as activity of project TANGRAM –  Transnational parks and Gardens Resources in Adriatic and Ionian tourist Marketplace, financed by the INTERREG V-B Adriatic-Ionian ADRION programme 2014-2020. Project TANGRAM is implemented from 01.02.2020. until 31.07.2022. by partners from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Greece, led by Municipality of Monza, Italy. Overall objective is to build and promote ADRION brand name in tourism by promoting a sustainable valorisation and integration into the tourism offer the Parks as hidden resources by an innovative governance system based on the collaboration between public and private sector. Sustainable valorisation and effective promotion of natural and cultural heritage are embedded into the TANGRAM project logic. The project aims to preserve and capitalise and innovate cultural and natural heritage. These aims will be reached exchanging good practices in tourism management/marketing, analysing and exploiting business opportunities within a new governance system based on a participative approach, enhancing the capacities of all relevant stakeholders in sustainable tourism management and marketing, formulating proper joint strategies and action plans for integrated management of sustainable tourism.
