CHESTNUT Project Meeting in Banja Luka, 26th-28th of June 2018

The project partners attended the project meeting in Banja Luka from 26th to 28th of June 2018. The event started on 26th of June with bilateral meeting between hosting and lead partner to discuss specific aspects of project implementation.  Special session on 26th of June was dedicated to finalization of the Overarching goal-Priority-Target matrix for the Municipality of Odorheiu Secuiesc, LIR Evolution, RDA Centru and the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad. The meeting on 26th of June was concluded with the 7th Steering Committee session where the STC members discussed the CHESTNUT project implementation progress and achievement of the project results.

The meeting on 27th of June started with the 4th Joint Learning Action session where partners presented and discussed measures, targets, responsibilities, costs and funding resources with guidance of Vienna University of Technology representatives. The afternoon session continued with presentations of short research on mobility best practices by the City of Dubrovnik development agency DURA, LIR Evolution, RDA Centru, Pannonian Business Network association and the Municipal District Prague 9.  The work session ended with the study visit to Banja Luka bike share system in the City Center. The representative of the City of Banja Luka guided the visit and provided information about Banja Luka bike share system to project partners.

The morning session on 28th of June started with general feedback on previous steps and guidelines for the future steps by Vienna University of Technology representative. The morning session continued with Transnational and Regional Dissemination Event, involving both – project partners and local key stakeholders. The project partners presented the overview of the CHESTNUT project, necessary steps in drafting of mobility scenarios, drafting of SUMPs and importance of joint pilot activities. The dissemination event is concluded with discussion between local stakeholders and the project partners. During the afternoon session, the partners presented their pilot activities divided in four groups of Joint Pilot Actions including Bike sharing, Electrical mobility, Feasibility studies for multimodal transport systems and Feasibility studies for infrastructures for cycling paths. The meeting is concluded with final remarks and next steps discussed by the WP5 Coordinator- Municipality of Weiz.
