SENCO – Solar ENergy COmmunities in Action

SENCO is a project in the field of energy transition, financed by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) within the European Climate Initiative (EUKI), implemented by GIZ.

The goal of the project is the promotion and establishment of innovative models of renewable energy communities, as well as producer-consumer status, through the establishment of decentralized solutions for the use of renewable energy, with increased engagement of local communities in the energy transition.

The main activities of the project are based on the analysis of the legal and technical framework in the field of renewable energy sources and energy communities, the creation of dedicated guides for target groups, a training program, round tables and info days, as well as the organization of two summer schools for the youth.

Partners in the project are LIR Evolution (LIR, BiH), Center for Sustainable Development (ALKA, North Macedonia) and Institute for Ecosystem Development (Co-PLAN, Albania). The project started on the 1st of April 2026 and will last 29 months.
