Within the project LEP Krajina – Improving the labour market and increasing employment in Northern Krajina, partners organized the Kick-Off Meeting and signed the partnership agreement on 27th of May 2022 in Laktaši. The LEP Krajina project continues initiatives established during realization of the LEP I project and expands the local employment partnership from Banja Luka, Laktaši and Čelinac to the territories of Gradiška, Derventa and Srbac.
Partners on the project are LIR Evolution, Republika Srpska Public Employment Service, the City of Laktaši, the City of Derventa, Vocational and technical school Derventa, Lanaco d.o.o, Novi Jelšingrad d.o.o. Banja Luka.
Mayor of Laktaši Miroslav Bojić expressed satisfaction on successful cooperation with the project partners and stressed importance of the project for the local community. LIR Evolution Director Slaviša Jelisić stressed the importance of the project for new employment and expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with the partners.
The project envisages trainings in metal processing, basic IT trainings, advanced IT trainings for “PHP web development”, entrepreneurship trainings and direct incentives to unemployed for self-employment, as well as a range of activities on harmonizing job supply and demand, as well as improving the efficiency of the local labor market. The project will encourage new employment in the metal processing and IT sectors, as well as self-employment in newly established SMEs that will be provided with mentoring and financial support, and improve efficiency and planning of the labor market through the inclusion of all key stakeholders and preparation of the action plan.
The Local Partnership for Employment Krajina is one of 20 partnerships established in B&H under the project “European Union Support for Local Employment Partnerships – Phase II” (LEP II), funded by the European Union with EUR 4 m and implemented by the International Labor Organization (ILO). This project aims to contribute to improving employment in local communities through local employment partnerships and to improve skills and employment opportunities for people disadvantaged in the labor market.
